These past few weeks saw a couple of interesting events that put music NFTs in the context of time and space. Such developments shine new lights on NFT use-cases, and further outline their capabilities, and the possibilities as a whole.

Without any delay, let’s dive in and take a look at the latest music NFTs have accomplished.

First Music NFT Makes Its Way Into Space

A historic event, the first-ever music NFT was beamed to the ISS about three weeks back. A version of the well-known classic ‘Clair de Lune’ was minted as an NFT, which orbited the earth for around 90 minutes before making its way back down.

Such events highlight the capabilities of NFTs. Where a regular music file would have just made its way up and down, with the help of blockchain technology, an NFT can be proven to have been into space.

Artist Combines The Vintage And Modern With New Collection

Singer, songwriter and producer Jon Christopher Davis released an NFT music collection celebrating vinyl records. The Texas-based artist, whose songs have been recorded by industry giants, combined a vintage aspect of music like vinyls, with a modern one like NFTs.

The collection, titled ‘Vinyl Revival’ features various interesting NFTs, such as a limited edition NFT that allows the owner to receive a signed physical vinyl record, another limited edition NFT that contains a 30-second video clip from the song’s music video, and two NFTs that can be redeemed for a private concert event, including one at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

His take on NFTs is not only a prime example of what can be accomplished through NFTs, but also an interesting blend of new and innovative technology with that of the past.

In Other News

Payment processing giant Visa jumps in on NFTs by purchasing a Cryptopunk NFT for around $150,000 worth of Ethereum. This series of NFTs were created by Larva Labs, and are based on the Ethereum blockchain.

The company expressed interest in the field, and described this purchase as merely the beginning in their efforts of understanding and working in this space.
